“He turned [the Egyptians’] heart to hate His people,
to deal subtly with His servants.”
Psalm 105:25
“And He saved them from the hand of him that hated them,
and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
He saved them for His name’s sake,
that He might make His mighty power to be known.”
Psalm 106:10, 8
God turned the hearts of the Egyptians against Israel for the same reason He rescued Israel from the Egyptians: to make His name known on earth. He loved people everywhere and wanted them to know Him. And in that love for a world drowning in superstitious fear of many gods, God worked mighty miracles and made His name known so that people would know there is a true and living God.
How very blessed is this world that God loved us enough to make His name known, and that He chose to reveal His Son to us! Where would we be if He had not done so?
